Cycore Computers is a privately-held graphics software company based in Uppsala, Sweden. Cycore was founded in 1996 by a group of creative engineers, led by Jerry Pettersson.
Cycore currently employs 70 people worldwide (as of October 1999) and specializes in the development of 3D-technologies for the Internet, as well as special-effects software for the film, video and broadcast industries worldwide.
Cycore has won several awards for its products and was a finalist in the "Best Internet Software" category for PC Week's Best of Comdex awards at Fall Comdex '98. Cycore's Cult3D« animation technology is the industry's first real-time, multi-platform 3D-rendering engine for the Internet.
Among its many applications, the Cult3D« tool enables companies to improve their E-commerce opportunities significantly by providing very realistic and interactive 3D-presentations of products. Cult3D« enables viewers to "touch, feel, and test" products, and it engages on-line-shoppers through real-time interactive content, significantly enhancing their buying experiences and giving them the support they need to make buying decisions. Several successful companies such as Nokia and CNN use Cult3D« objects on their web sites.
Cycore Computers also
has a legacy in the field of special effects software. In the mid-90s, Cycore
created the award-winning Final Effects and Studio Effects plug-ins for Adobe
After Effects. The software packages have become industry standards and are
two of the film industry┤s most popular tools for putting the finishing touches
on film and video productions. A new special effects package, Cult EffectsÖ,
was launched by Cycore in March 1999. Cycore's special-effects software is
used by customers in large broadcasting companies, motion-picture studios
and post-production facilities worldwide.
